Great Lenexa BBQ Battle: Watch cooks from across the country battle their BBQ brisket, pork, pork ribs and chicken for the Kansas State Championship June 23–24.

Lenexa Freedom Run: Start Independence Day early with a 5K or 10K in Old Town on July 4.

Lenexa Spinach Festival: This family-orientated event on Sept. 9 is packed with packed with food, music, entertainment, hands-on activities and craft vendors.

Food Truck Frenzy: Sample what the metro's best food trucks have to offer at foodie events in Old Town (July 15) and Lenexa City Center (Sept. 23).

Lenexa Chili Challenge: Nearly 200 teams will compete in Lenexa's Chili Challenge Oct. 13–14 in Old Town.

Truck or Treat: Kids have a blast in October for our combined combined touch-a-truck and trunk-or-treat event with Municipal Services.

Enchanted Forest: Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park is transformed for one night on Oct. 26, where there is something to delight even the smallest of Halloween revelers.

Cupid's Gems Artisan Jewelry Show: Browse a variety of original jewelry items handcrafted by local artisans in February 2024 at historic Thompson Barn.

Lenexa Art Fair: This outdoor juried art fair in May features dozens of fine artists from the region.

Known as the “City of Festivals”, we host 12+ festivals and events each year, providing fun family entertainment for our residents that draws visitors from the greater metropolitan area and beyond.

We also host live music and theatrical performances year-round through City Center Live, our Outdoor Concert Series and the Lenexa Community Orchestra.

Kids can fish, bike and watch movies at various Lenexa parks through Lenexa’s Fishing Derby, Tiny Tot Triathlon and Movies in the Park. 

Shop one-of-a-kind, handmade jewelry at Cupid's Gems Artisan Jewelry Show at Thompson Barn. Taste the metro's best food trucks in one place during Food Truck Frenzy in Old Town and Lenexa City Center. Take a stroll through the Meritex caves for Moonlight Bike Ride. 

We even have an event for your pup to take a splash at Paws in the Pool.

When the holiday season comes around, you can expect to see scary creatures at Enchanted Forest for Halloween fun and you can walk through Sar-Ko Aglow for the City's holiday lights display.
