Nate Blum Lenexa City Manager Beccy Yocham announced today that Nate Blum has been appointed Lenexa’s new Chief Financial Officer. This position is a member of the city manager’s senior management team and is responsible for the City of Lenexa’s financial operations, including budget preparation and administration, payroll, purchasing, fixed assets, debt issuance, capital improvement projects, fee schedules, audits, reporting and investments.

Blum will assume the role on April 11 and replaces Doug Robinson, who recently retired after serving the Lenexa community for 17 years.

“We are pleased to have Nate join our leadership team,” said City Manager Beccy Yocham. “His experience in government financial management and his passion serving the public makes him the right choice for our organization.”

“I am very excited to be joining the team at Lenexa and to be a part of a city with a reputation for providing exceptional public services,” said Blum. “The City, along with the Finance team, have set the bar high and I look forward to upholding the same standard of service.”

Blum most recently served as Director of Finance for Riverside, MO, and has also held positions with Johnson County, KS; Lawrence, KS; Austin, TX; and Raytown, MO. He has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Truman State University. Blum is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association and the International City/County Management Association.

Lenexa’s Chief Financial Officer manages a seven-member team which is responsible for a budget of $183.9 million in FY 2022. The City of Lenexa maintains the best possible credit ratings – Aaa from Moody’s and AAA from Standard and Poor’s – on outstanding general obligation bonds. The City also has a structurally balanced General Fund in all five years of the multi-year financial model.
