Lifeguard (Outdoor/Indoor)

Lifeguards are responsible for the overall daily operation of the City’s swimming pools including the supervision of pool patrons, maintaining training standards, daily pool maintenance and operational activities, and record keeping.

Starting pay rate: $14 per hour

Swim Lessons Instructor (Outdoor/Indoor)

Swim Lessons Instructors are responsible for day-to-day instruction and operation of aquatic lessons, including the swim lesson programs at Ad Astra Aquatic Center, Flat Rock Creek Aquatic Center and the Lenexa Rec Center. This includes instructing, coordinating activities, evaluating progress, and handling delegated administrative duties. This position maintains and improves aquatic programs, while creating and maintaining public awareness on water safety, and resolving participant and patron issues.

Starting pay rate: $15 to $16.56 per hour, depending on qualifications and/or directly related experience

Assistant Swim Coach

Assistant Swim Coaches are responsible for day-to-day instruction and oversight of the Lenexa Lazers Swim Team. Assistant coaches support the plan and direction of the Head Swim Coach, assist with practices and meets, demonstrate techniques, analyze performance, instruct participants, attend parent meetings and functions, and coordinate with participants and families. This position maintains and improves the Lazers Swim Team program, while creating and maintaining public awareness and resolving participant and patron issues.

Starting pay rate: $14 - $15.46 per hour, depending on qualifications and/or directly related experience
Minimum age to apply: 17 years old

Head Dive Coach

The Head Dive Coach is responsible for day-to-day instruction and operation of the Lenexa Lazers Dive Team. This position will plan and organize practices and meets, develop and train assistant coaches, demonstrate techniques, analyze performance, instruct participants, attend league meetings and functions, complete necessary reports and records, and coordinate with participants and families. 

Starting pay rate: $17.50 to $19.32 per hour, depending on qualifications and/or directly related experience
Minimum age to apply: 17 years old, with two years of coaching experience
