The Lenexa Community Orchestra performs free concerts for the community each summer. The orchestra, which began in 2017 as a program of the Lenexa Arts Council, is made up of volunteer musicians and is led by conductor Richard Ryan.


Concert schedule 

2023 concerts will take place on the following dates:

Saturday, July 1
Repertoire:
Carlos Chavez - "Symphony #4"
Howard Hanson - "Symphony #2"

Saturday, July 29
Repertoire:
Christopher Theofanidis - "Rainbow Body"
Pyotr Illyich Tchaikovsky - "Symphony #4"

Saturday, August 12
Repertoire: 
Ludwig Beethoven - "Romance in F"
Johannes Brahms - "Symphony #1"

All concerts begin at 7 p.m. at Community Covenant Church, 15700 W. 87th St. Pkwy., Lenexa, KS 66219. Doors open approximately 20-30 minutes prior to the concert following the sound check. 


Play music with us

Our goal is to build a community of artists who want to create music together. Applications for volunteer musicians are accepted from March to May for each summer concert season. Once registered in our volunteer center, you will receive a Google form to indicate availability, instrument played and experience/background.
