The indoor pool at the Lenexa Rec Center has something for everyone! This 14,000-square-foot facility features fun water features, lap lanes for swimming, a warm water wellness pool and two tall water slides. 

Admission

Admission to the pool is free for members of the Lenexa Rec Center. Nonmembers may use the pool by purchasing a Rec Center day pass: $12 regular rate / $9 Lenexa resident discount.

In order for everyone to enjoy themselves at the Lenexa Rec Center indoor pool, please read our pool rules

Age restrictions

  • Ages 12 and older: No supervision required.

  • Ages 9 to 11: An adult 18 or older must be in building.

  • Ages 8 and younger: An adult 18 or older must be in the building AND the child must be directly and responsibly supervised by someone 14 or older.


Indoor pool hours status

General open swim hours

General open swim is open to anyone for recreational or fitness swimming during the following times. Note that the pool area closes 30 minutes before the building closes.

  • Monday through Friday: 4 to 8:30 p.m.* 

  • Saturday and Sunday: noon to 5:30 p.m.*

    * Individual amenities may be closed due to swim lessons, aqua fitness classes, general maintenance, staffing, etc.  

March Pool Schedule



Deep water well

The deep water well is the perfect place for thrill-seekers! You can jump off the 3-meter platform or climb to the top of our 20-foot climbing wall before splashing into the water.

Kiddie pool

Perfect for our youngest swimmers, the kiddie pool has a zero-depth entry and an interactive play structure with lots of spray features sure to make for hours of fun!

Monday through Friday

  • 10 to 11:30 a.m.: Splash with Me

    Splash With Me is for kids age 5 and younger. Adult supervision is required. Children who are not potty trained must wear swim diaper and swimsuit. No cost for X Pass and Core Pass Members; regular rate is $2/person per drop-in visit.

    Lap pool

    If lap swimming for exercise is more your style, we have three lap lanes available. Lap lanes are 25 yards, and 35 laps (down and back, 70 lengths) is 1 mile.

    Lazy river

    Sit back, relax and let the jets in our lazy river carry you around. Or get a workout in by doing some water walking against the current.

    Slides

    Some of the most exciting features of our indoor pool are our two 40-foot-tall water slides. Get your adrenaline pumping by going down the orange enclosed speed slide, or enjoy the slower ride on the blue leisure slide. 

    You must be at least 42" tall to ride the blue slide and 48" tall to ride the orange slide. 

    Warm water wellness pool

    The warm water wellness pool is perfect for those who are sensitive to water temperatures or looking for some relaxation.

    Please refrain from jumping into or splashing in this pool. It is designed for water fitness and relaxation.

    Frequently asked questions


    What are the height/weight requirements for the slides?

    Large slides 

    • You must be 48 inches or taller to ride the orange slide and 42 inches or taller to ride the blue slide.

    • Weight limit is 300 pounds.

    Children’s play slides

    The slides for the children’s play structure are designed for ages 2 to 5 and have a maximum weight limit of 150 pounds.

    How old does a child have to be to swim alone?

    Ages 12 and older do not require supervision. Ages 9 to 11 must have an adult 18 or older in the building at all times. Ages 8 and younger must have an adult 18 or older in the building AND must be directly and responsibly supervised by someone 14 or older at all times.

    When will I be able to use the indoor pool area?

    We provide a "When to Swim" schedule that will show when certain features will be available. You can get a copy of this schedule at the front desk or on this webpage.

    Are flotation devices allowed?

    Arm floats, rafts, noodles and large beach balls are not permitted. U.S. Coast Guard-approved flotation devices are permitted

    • An adult must stay within one arm’s length.

    • Users of flotation devices are not permitted on slides, diving boards or rock walls.

    Do I have to be a member to sign up for swim lessons?

    No. Anyone may sign up for our swim lessons program. Group and private/semiprivate swim lessons are available.

    Does my outdoor pool membership give me access to the Lenexa Rec Center indoor pool?

    No, the City of Lenexa's outdoor pools have a separate membership.

    To use the Lenexa Rec Center's indoor pool, you must either be a member of this facility or purchase a day pass.
