Sar-Ko Aglow in Lenexa is one of the Kansas City metro’s best holiday light displays. Miles of light strands and thousands of colorful bulbs brighten this favorite park each winter. Take a nighttime stroll around Rose’s Pond during December and January to view the stunning spectacle and its reflections on the water.

Whether at dusk or dark, Sar-Ko Aglow makes a picture-perfect scene for family photos.

Lighting ceremony

Dec. 1, 2023, 6 to 7 p.m.

Grand Pavilion east of Rose’s Pond

  • Free admission
  • Free parking at Indian Trails Aquatic Center and Foundry Church

Kick off your holiday festivities by meeting up with friends and neighbors for Lenexa’s annual holiday lighting tradition. Mayor Boehm will flip the ceremonial switch at 6 p.m.

Santa Claus will hear children’s holiday wishes until 7 p.m. Warm up with hot cocoa and coffee from Foundry Church while the Dickens Carolers sing classic holiday tunes.

Inclement Weather Plan

If the weather forecast predicts the temperature or wind chill to be 15 degrees or lower, we will cancel the Dec. 1 lighting ceremony. We will make a decision about cancellation by noon on the day of the event.
