Lenexa Parks & Recreation offers indoor swim lessons year-round and outdoor swim lessons during the summer. Our program uses American Red Cross Learn to Swim levels. It is designed for ages 6 month to adult, and each level is based on skill and age.

Group, private and semiprivate options are available.

Our swim instructors are certified with various levels of experience, qualifications and expertise.

American Red Cross Learn to Swim Levels

We recommend you place your child in the level they last completed. It is easier to move your child up a level than it is to move them down a level.

If you need assistance placing your child in the appropriate level, please refer to our swim lesson placement flow chart.

Our instructors will conduct a skills assessment on the first day of class to verify your child is in the right level. If your child needs to move levels, the instructor will notify you of their recommendations within the first two days of class.
