Chelsea Williamson was elected to serve as a Ward 3 council member in November 2023.

A life-long resident of the Kansas City area, Chelsea and her husband, David, have lived together in Lenexa since 2016 with their two dogs, Ollie and Odin. 

Chelsea is an attorney in private practice with over 20 years’ experience in consumer protection and bankruptcy. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Kansas, where she obtained a B.S. in business administration in 1997. She attended law school at UMKC and obtained her law degree in 2001. She is licensed in Missouri and Kansas state and federal courts.

Chelsea is a published author, a frequent public speaker and lecturer. She is a former member of the Local Rules Committee for both Kansas and Missouri Bankruptcy Courts assisting the judges in writing the local rules for the federal bankruptcy courts. 

She is a volunteer attorney providing pro bono legal assistance for the Volunteer Attorney Project with the Western District of Missouri Legal Aid and sits on the Legal Redress Committee for the Johnson County chapter of the NAACP. 

In her spare time, Chelsea accompanies her musician husband to his local gigs, and they travel to New Jersey to visit their daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter.
